Build Process

25 Steps.
One Build.

Every Restorations By Sabra project follows the same disciplined line, start to finish — eight phases, twenty-five steps, no shortcuts.

PHASE 1

Discovery & Design

Client discovery meeting with Restorations By Sabra team
01

Discovery

Listening & Sharing Phase of the Project

Active, attentive information gathering from every stakeholder — especially the new client — during project initiation and planning.

02

Design

The Project Profile — Illustrating the Visionary Direction

The concept is translated into detailed plans and specs through schematic design, major parts development, build-plan documents, and ROM.

03

The Teardown

Delayering, Disassembly, Documentation & Storage

Systematic disassembly of the vehicle, or a specific part of it, for detailed examination and analysis.

04

Parts Procurement

Order Parts & Begin the Parts Life Cycle

Sourcing, acquiring, and managing materials & services — identifying needs, selecting suppliers, negotiating, and managing the relationship.

PHASE 2

Fabrication

Bare chassis frame under fabrication
05

Chassis Fabrication

Metal Fab, Suspension, Steering, Brake & Differential

Building the skeletal framework of the vehicle — the fundamental structure and support for every component attached to it.

06

Sheet Metal Fabrication

Rust Removal, Alignment, Dent Removal

Raw metal is transformed into finished or semi-finished panels through cutting, bending, shaping, and assembling.

07

Mechanical Fabrications

Rebuilding Sub-Assemblies & Powertrains

Pre-install of systems such as AC, wiring, sub-assemblies, housings, cooling, and other mechanical systems.

Finished orange and brown leather bucket seat
08

Interior Fabrications

Frame, Foaming, Console Creations & Sewing

Design, sewing, and material attachment across every interior segment of the build scope, including mock fits.

09

Fluidity of Fabrications

Beautification & Harmonious Balance of Systems

Testing and proper care of every system built so far, in preparation for long-term storage or the next phase.

PHASE 3

Body Shop

Technician applying body filler to raw sheet metal
10

Body Shop 1

Initial Body — Raw Body Work

Assessing damage, repairing or replacing panels, and preparing the surface for painting. Every project starts with initial bodywork.

11

Body Shop 2

Body Gaps & Fit — Line Shaping, Pre-Fitment

Precise, consistent alignment of panels and exterior components — bumpers, chrome, and beyond. Time invested reflects the end result.

Hand block sanding a tailgate before final primer
12

Body Shop 3

Final Body — Block Sanding & Final Primers

Smoothing out every imperfection after filler or primer for a perfectly flat surface, so nothing shows through the final paint.

PHASE 4

Paint Shop

Wet sanding a primed hood by hand
13

Paint Shop 1

Painter's Block — Water Sanding & Final Inspection

Fine-grit wet sanding (1,500–2,000 grit) removes imperfections and creates a uniform, polished base for new paint.

Trimming yellow masking tape before paint
14

Paint Shop 2

Prep Time — Disassembly, Repositioning & Masking

Covering specific areas with tape and protective materials to protect clean paint lines and areas that don't need painting.

Spraying a green fender panel in the paint booth
15

Paint Shop 3

Booth Time — Coloring & Clearing Process

The base-coat and clear-coat two-stage system — some candy colors require a mid-coat, or a 3-stage process.

16

Paint Shop 4

Post Booth Time — Color Sanding & Buffing

Wet sanding and buffing bring the finish to a professional, high-gloss level — the time invested dictates the end result.

PHASE 5

F.I.T Garage

Truck body lowered onto chassis on a lift
17

FIT Garage 1

Finishing, Interior & Technology Join Coach & Chassis

The chassis — frame, suspension, powertrain — is assembled and attached to the car's body, preparing it for outfitting.
